  Irish Elders Clubs

The main aim of the Irish Elders Clubs is to engage older people in meaningful activities.

The largest of the Clubs is the Tuesday Club which meets at the Irish Club in Digbeth weekly.

The schedule for this is as follows:

  • 10.30am Members meet at Irish Club, Digbeth
  • 10.30 - 11.30am - Activities such as keep fit and Irish Set Dancing take place
  • 12.00pm - Light Refreshments are served.
  • 1pm - 1.30pm - BINGO
  • 1.45pm - Members bid farewell to each other until next week.
  • Registration for this club is only £1.
The Tuesday Club is host to numerous Socials with buffet and live music. Members of the Tuesday Club have the opportunity to go on an annual holiday with the club which generally takes place in May.

From time to time the club also has day trips and exchanges visits with other Irish Elders clubs in the UK.

IWIC has also a club in Handsworth.  Activities such as keep fit, set dancing, games of bingo and refreshments are all part of the weekly meetings.
