Saint Eugene's Court and the Older Irish Adults Project

The Older Irish Adults project is specifically funded to work with people aged 40 and over. Like the other projects within IWIC, most of the work is carried out through Outreach visits. Help is available to sort out welfare benefit entitlements, accommodation concerns, isolation, discrimination and victimisation issues.

The OIAP also encompasses a Drop-in facility. Such a resource has for many years been an integral part or IWIC and is now based at St. Eugene's Court in Rea Street. The Drop in provides a hot meal prepared fresh everyday by our chef for a nominal charge of £2.00.

People can also take advantage of laundry, bathing and clothing facilities, as well as making use of the activities (gardening, pool, Gaelic sports, chess, cards, videos, library etc.). Most of the users of the Drop In are appreciative of the opportunity to chat with others who have the same kinds of reminiscences and cultural sensitivities.

The drop in centre is open from 11.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday with the meals being served from 12.00am to 1.30pm.
